Hysterectomy Empty Hysterectomy

Post by ifer on Mon Sep 07, 2009 10:09 pm

So, I'm gonna be going in for my surgery on wednesday. I'll probably be in the hospital for a bout 3 days, and bedridden for at least 3 weeks after that.

Holy shit!!! Hysterectomy 153229 Oh gosh, Ifer.... I wish I'd known sooner! Kyle told me not too long ago, but jeez! He just said you were having "Your surgery" (apparently you mum was vague on the details). I hope you get better! If you ever need anything, and I mean ANYTHING... Tim Hortons soup, foot massage... Really, just give a hollar. You (kinda) know where I live, so don't be shy!

Bah, no worries. I'm well on my way to recovery. Walking fine and the pain's down to a couple Tylenol's worth. Hysterectomy Icon_biggrin In two days, I get to do stairs again. Hysterectomy Icon_smile

Details on surgery (female-issues and surgery squeamishness warning):
Spoiler:
Got a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) and a left oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries) to treat my endometriosis (endometrial tissue [the stuff in the uterus that swells with blood and then dies each month] speading outside of the uterus and continuing to bleed in areas not made to handle it).

Yeah. James has been a little ambivalent to this whole project for a while.

And Austin...I don't even know to be honest

I was talking to Victor (one of the new guys from Deadlands who wants to join the Saturday game) and he was wondering if he could come to Ifer's on Saturday. I figured it would be a good way to get him to meet the group and get to know the people who he'll be playing with if he ends up joining.

Would anyone have any problem with that?

Also, on a related note, I was hoping to start up our Saturday night game again this week, if Steve is free, which game are we going to play if we start?

I guess that'd be ok, presuming you can vouch that his presence won't disturb our merrymaking.

M'kay. If you way so. But we won't really be able to do any work stuff then.

So are we getting together on the 2nd or the third? The second is a friday, and our b&b is guest free. On saturday, we have a guest arriving at 4 who requires privacy, so we'd have to leave by then. We could have a sleepover friday (not in the guest bedroom, tho) then move the party elsewhere when the guest arrives, maximizing fun time?

I would be up for coming over Friday.

Maybe it would be better if the group hangs out on Friday and early Saturday, then after 4 Steve, Kelsey, and I can head over to my place for our game, picking up Zach, Victor, and Julie (Kelsey's friend who wants to join) on the way.

What does everyone think of that? And Steve, who do you want to run? I would be fine with running a game but if you are set you can run.

honestly, I don't care who runs right now. Is Vic the one that wants to join the Zelda one?

Yeah, that's him. Jule seems interested in joining both, so I figure I would bring her along to the game and show her the type of games we'll be playing.

I'll run if you don't mind, I've been getting kind of psyched for this campaign for a while and I have some stuff ready.
