Idea Contests

I think that as a way to get people thinking and get lots of stuff done in a short amount of time we will be doing "contests." A contest will be posted in whichever area applies with a certain challenge for everyone, for example a bombs one could read "think up three mutant creatures based on animal x." Each contest will run for a week and then will restart with a new theme. I am considering doing voting over private message and the winner of the last week's will pick the topic for the next week. If we do voting the one rule will be that no one can vote for themselves.

What does everyone think of this idea?

Sounds cool to me. Don't know if it'll work, tho.

I will do some thinking about topics and will post the first set of contests on Monday!

For the ones about making critters stats would be nice (though they are not mandatory), I urge people to do them, as they are not difficult. For that this will be very useful:

The first three "challenges" have been posted, one in the Bombs section, one in the Commonwealth Adventures section and one in the Shifterlands section.

The rules are as follows, submissions and votes will be accepted until Saturday. Please vote by sending a PM to the person who started the challenge. You cannot vote for yourself. On Sunday the votes will be added up and the winner will be announced and then the next Monday that winner can start a new contest in any thread of their choice.

And just for sake of fairness, I will only post original material that I thought up after the challenges were posted, to ensure that I have no advantage.

So far it seems only Ifer and I have posted, and just one post apiece. remember the deadline is approaching, don't wait for Saturday to post if you're going to post.

Ifer and Kiki each won one challenge by default. So if you two could post a new contest each by Monday we'll try this again. Hopefully we'll get more responses next time.

Maybe if there were only one challenge each week, or if challenges lasted a month, it would work better?
